About Me

I graduated from New York University with honors in 1984 where I majored in economics.  I then worked for the Dean of the Faculty at NYU as a special assistant.  I went to Albany Law School where I served as Associate Editor of the Albany Law Review, graduating in 1988.   I was employed with a large law firm before opening my own office in 1991.  My office has been at the same location with the same telephone number for the last 30 years.  I practice primarily in the area of criminal defense law.  My extensive practical experience and academic achievement qualify me to handle most any type of criminal case.  Many of my cases are referred by other attorneys who do not practice criminal law or for the purpose of handling the jury trial.  I strive for a professional and cordial relationship with every Prosecutor or U.S. Attorney with whom I have worked on cases.  I have compassion for all people and have been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for many years.  I have a pro bono dedication to helping people of African-American origin charged with minor drug-related crimes, which people have been disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.  (See links on my home page.)  If you are seeking representation for your drug case in New Jersey, and truly cannot afford counsel, send me an email.  If I have the time and resources available, I will consider handling the case without cost.  I can only take about five such cases a year.  I am happily married for over 30 years with two children.  My interests include car racing and distance running.
